Sisters in Denver

Jazz is so lazy nowadays she wonders if there is any app to convert her thoughts to a blog post. πŸ˜›

So Ims and my sister finally met, she could not attend our wedding and this is the first time they meet. The flight was good though we did not expect and we reached late by 11 in the night. It was so good to meet family here after a long time, the most excited was my niece. My sister makes some delicious Indo-Chinese food, Shrimp fried rice and Chilly chicken welcomed us home.

The next day was my niece’s birthday party, it was organized few days after her actual birthday so that we could attend too. πŸ™‚ I think some energizer entered my sister those days and she actually single-handedly cooked for the party. The menu was Onion pakoda, dahi vada, poori, chole, veg biryani, matar paneer, tomato chutney, raitha, mango custard and gulab jamun, and not to forget special mutton biryani etc for us. I was just gaping at how she was running here and there managing everything. And BIL was given charge of shopping and all other outside work.

Ims took care of the decorations and I kept Eru entertained, that was a big help according to my sister. πŸ˜€ And just on time, we tidied up the house and were ready to welcome the guests.

Kiddo conspiracies:

When the first kid entered, niece stuck to her but when her best buddy from school Y came, they both would not see anyone else. This irritated the other 3 kids and they started complaining, we were shocked to see Y not letting anyone near her best friend. And Eru does not share her toys which resulted in even more fights. Ims also overheard 2 of the kids promising not to play with the only boy. It was a total riot to see those little kids run, scream and fight with their parents behind them. πŸ˜€

When the delicious Rapunzel birthday cake came out (it is another story how it was saved and stored from the birthday girl herself), candles were lighted and before Eru could react, her friend blew them and she was too shocked and we could not control our laughter any longer. We calmed her down and let her blow them again, while other parents watched their kids. πŸ˜€

Phew, there was also music that kept the kids busy. The party was managed on a short notice but it was a hit, everyone appreciated the decorations and the yummy food. And thanks to Ims, we got a great set of pictures too. πŸ™‚

Btw, I dressed her up πŸ˜‰ and also whenever a family entered, all Eru was interested in was the huge gift they carried. πŸ˜›
