Los Angeles – Day 2

So we woke up early next day, had yummy breakfast, got our tickets and were all set to visit the Disneyland which was just about 15 mins walk from the hotel. We reached by 10, and were simply lost, we took half an hour to figure out what to do first and what not. We entered the Fantasy land, clicked some pictures, looked for rides and found some kiddo rides which had lesser wait times and did 3 of them, and already got bored. Then we sat for a while and studied the map, it had a total of 60 rides and we researched and made a list of the best ones.

It was fun here on and the crowd and the roaming got on to us. Next we did a fast ride over a snow mountain, then went for the space mountain ride which had great reviews, waited for around 20 mins and the ride got temporarily closed. 😐 Then we saw a short MJ 3D show, and next the Finding Nemo submarine ride which was different and good. Then we hopped onto the Monorail which was primarily for shuttling between the Disneyland park and the California adventure park (which we had no ticket for).

Next we entered some museum like which was not so impressive and we left immediately to not waste time. We enjoyed our lunch of delicious Fish burgers with fries and soda watching some play where they engaged so many kids which was a treat. Then there was a train to go around the park, and we took it to go to the other side which had better rides. There was this Haunted Mansion ride which sounded cool, had a long wait time too, but it was so worth it. We loved the effects, especially the mirror where we see a ghost sitting between us. 😀

Then we went for the Pirates of Caribbean ride with an even longer wait time which was good too. Our next plan was to get over with the Indiana Jones adventure nearby but it was also temporarily closed. So we stood in queue for the Jungle Cruise, we were half way and we see the gates of Indiana Jones open and immediately rushed there and gladly finished it soon. Phew !!

We saw a small raft taking people to some Tom Sawyer island, we went there but did not find it too interesting but clicked some ducks there and came back. Next was the Splash mountain ride which had a wait time of 70 minutes :-o, then we discovered the fast pass which gives a particular time to come back for the ride and get in quickly. It was already 5 PM, and we still had few more stuff to see. So took the fast pass for 6.30 PM, and went to the Toon world in the mean time.

It had pretty lighting, and lovely toon houses. We did the only roller coaster ride there and took the train to the Splash mountain again, which was great falling 50 ft into water, loved it. Then we set out for the Space mountain which reopened now with an even longer wait time of 75 minutes I guess. Imagine moving slowly in the queue for more than an hour, people were somehow passing time. It was getting chilly and we entered the ride at 8.30 PM, the time when fireworks would be displayed. This was the best of the rides, it was dark with just stars around, and moving fastest on a roller coaster into the space, awesome. We just missed the fireworks, and Ims got disappointed.

An announcement was made that the Park would be open till 11 PM that day. We did some window shopping, had garma garam churros and rested for a while. It was nearly 9.30 PM when we left, we also caught a glimpse of the Mickey parade. We were satisfied with 12 hours of non stop fun and slept peacefully for another tiring day ahead. 🙂
